Carlon Criulo began his solo career in 2011. Among his many works are the albums “Passaporti”, “Nada Ka Muda”, “Griga”, “Tinha K Ser” or the recent “Karlon Krioulo & 20 Elementus”. The singer, who was a member of Nigga Poison in the ’90s, spoke to CM about the music he created.
“The theme “Freedom” tells us about the reality in which we live in cities or even in humanity, in the world around us. “If you like a flower, you don’t have to pick it. You can free the bird from the cage.” This is about freedom. Try to give more freedom to the things that surround us; animals are also part of our lives. Respect others and live with more joy and be more grateful for what we have in life,” says. Carlon Criulo on the theme, which features Sonny 40, JJ 2000 Fantasmas, Chullage, BDjoy, Primeiro G, Lord G, Maria Tavares, DJ Rodric and with production from B Crux Underground.
He recently released the album “Karlon Krioulo & 20 Elementus” featuring several artists from the Oeiras region to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of his independent label Kreduson Produson. The singer continues to “sample”, mainly Cape Verdean music, and is preparing a collection with several performers. “Every time I go to the store, I get this feeling in my heart that I want to pick up a record that I’ve never heard. It doesn’t matter what artist or style it is, bring it home and always do that remix,” the singer says. .
Carlon Criulo also discusses the topic “É ka nada Underground”. “This song came from those days when I woke up feeling a little upset and said, ‘What is this guy doing here on the planet?’ The singer decided to create a song that fights this feeling.
“I’m going to do the opposite. Wake up without being in a bad mood and without complaining about life: “I get up in the morning, another day of routine, the sun rises, pulls back the curtain.” For all of us, as humans, when we are sad, we think that this is how our life is. Not every day is sunny, there are days when it rains. In our heads it’s like the weather, there are sunny days and rainy days. we can construct the sun. And if we feel too much sun on our heads, we can create rain. It’s kind of a back and forth for life. Because it goes away in an instant. Today we are all adults, adults wanted to be children, and children wanted to be adults,” concludes in a good mood.
