Biden, who is under intense pressure from several Democratic Party figures and members to abandon the White House race, said he is growing frustrated and tired of the party elite.
“I’m not going anywhere. I wouldn’t be running if I didn’t fully believe that I was the best candidate to beat Donald Trump. We had a Democratic nominating process where the voters made their voices clear,” he said.
Biden also sent a letter to congressional Democrats on Monday assuring them that he will not give up.
“It was their decision. The voters, and the voters alone, determine the Democratic nominee. How can we protect democracy in our country if we ignore it in our own party? I can’t do it. I won’t do it,” the document says.
“It’s time for us to come together, move forward as a united party and defeat Trump,” he urged.
