The woman’s body was found last Thursday evening, buried 50 centimetres underground, in a farming area between Vagos and Calvao. The body had back wounds consistent with stab wounds.
He was found in the area where Arilis Rojas, 36, went missing a week ago, after her partner gave authorities a tip.
The Vagos firefighters delivered the body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy and identification.
Arelis Rojas has been missing in Quintana, Vagos, since August 14.
The disappearance was reported to Vagos GNR five days later, earlier this week, but the case was referred to the Aveiro Judicial Police. The alarm was raised by Arelis’ co-workers when she failed to show up for work.
