Lamego declares municipal mourning for death of PPR soldiers in Douro helicopter crash

The municipality of Lamego is already mourning the death of the NTC soldiers who were on board the helicopter that crashed in the Douro this Friday.

A municipal mourning was declared in honor of the soldiers. The Town Hall flag was lowered.

Remember that The plane was carrying five soldiers from the GNR’s Emergency Protection and Assistance Unit (UEPS) and sank. The pilot, Luis Rebelo, was rescued alive and is in stable condition.

“The Municipality of Lamego regrets with deep horror the death of the GNR soldiers from the Emergency Protection and Assistance Unit, who this Friday were on board the helicopter that crashed into the Douro River.
