A taxi driver, aged 35, was stabbed seven times on Tuesday, two in the back and five in the arms, in Monte da Caparica, Almada. The crime occurred around 5:30 am.
In an interview with CMTV, the man says that he was transporting a passenger to Monte da Caparica and, upon arriving at the place, asked him to return home in order to receive money to pay for the trip. When he returned, he was armed with a knife and threatened the taxi driver that he would give him all the money he had.
“The buyer went home for money, came back with a knife and put it around my neck,” he says.
The man even turned to the taxi service for help, but since he received no answer, he, bleeding, went to the Garcia de Orta hospital.
Despite not being able to steal the victim’s wallet, the attacker managed to take the victim’s personal mobile phone.
