More than a million people have been affected by flooding in South Sudan in recent months, with 36 districts affected by the disaster, according to the latest United Nations balance sheet.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicated that these numbers could increase “if the rains continue” and specified that the hardest hit areas were the states of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Warab, Unity and Western Equatoria. In addition, 20,000 people were affected in Abyei, disputed with Sudan.
