Lasse Wellander, guitarist for ABBA, has died at the age of 70. The musician performed with the band in the 70s and 80s, and most recently participated in the creation of the Voyager album, released in 2021.
“It is with unspeakable sadness that we must announce that our beloved Lasse has died. Lasse recently contracted cancer that had spread and died early on Good Friday morning surrounded by his loved ones,” he told the family on Facebook.
In accordance with metro andIn October 1974 Wellander began recording with ABBA Agnetha Fältskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. In 1975, 1977, 1979 and 1980 he went on stage to perform with a Swedish band.
Lasse Wellander released his own debut album in 1981 and then released 11 more records over the next few years.
