Between Friday and Sunday, the PSP detained seven men aged between 18 and 48 years old on suspicion of committing various crimes against police officers.
According to a statement by the aforementioned body, the arrests were the result of police patrols carried out in the parishes of Misericordia, Carnida, São Domingos de Benfica, Mina de Agua Amadora, Aguas Livres Amadora and Belas.
One of the detainees traveled around Amadora on an electric bicycle, intended exclusively for circulation in the municipality of Lisbon. The investigation revealed that he had misappropriated the bicycle and was therefore suspected of theft.
When informed that he would be taken to the police station, the man became hostile and uncooperative, violently pushing one of the officers.
