Witnesses to the murder of PSP agent Fabio Guerra, who was beaten to death by former Marines outside a nightclub in March 2022, are afraid to speak.
As a security measure, the Ministry of Health has already demanded that witnesses be heard via videoconference.
The Judicial Police found at the investigation stage that the witnesses expressed fear of speaking about the suspects and the facts for fear of reprisals.
The defense of the defendant Claudio Coimbra, one of the former Marines, disagreed with the decision and has already challenged it. The court has not yet made a decision.
Claudio Coimbra and Vadim Grinko, the two former marines who beat Fabio Guerra to death, are on trial for the qualified murder of a PSP agent. Fabio Guerra was in the company of other colleagues when he was killed. The group attempted to fight outside the Mome nightclub in Lisbon, but ended up being severely beaten. Fabio Guerra eventually died.
