A pensioner threw a grenade at a woman

The context of the attack was reported to PSP by a former soldier’s comrade. The woman said that her husband became violent after she came home. He asked him where he had been and looked drunk. Moments later, he came into the kitchen and the woman stated that she heard a small noise (the pin of a training grenade being pulled) and felt the body of the object hit her legs. The wife of the ex-soldier claims that she feared for her life, having fled to the stairs of the building, where she called the police service.

The man denied the assault and ingestion of bleach, which was reported by his granddaughter upon PSP’s arrival. A few minutes later he confirmed both situations. Agents found the pin and body of a grenade, which were seized by riot police. The former soldier was taken to Amadora Sintra Hospital under arrest for ingesting bleach. The Sintra Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth celebrated the couple’s granddaughter.
