In a statement, Margarida Blasco’s ministry said it accepted proposals presented by the PSP’s national director, Superintendent Luis Carrillo, which included the current commanders of the capital commands of Porto and Lisbon.
Superintendent Pedro Gouveia, current commander of the PSP Porto Metropolitan Command, has been appointed Deputy National Director of the Organic Operations and Security Division.
He previously served as Director of Private Security and Operations for PSP.
Current Deputy Director of the Graduate Institute of Police Science and Homeland Security, Superintendent Virginia Cruz, has been selected as Deputy Director of Organic Logistics and Finance.
He worked as a PSP liaison officer in the Ministry of the Interior and was the commander of the PSP area command in Aveiro.
According to information released by MAI, the current Director of the PSP Police Information Department, Superintendent João Ribeiro, has been appointed Deputy Organic Unit for Airport Security and Border Control.
In the past, he served as director of the Department of Information and Communication Systems of the PSP and liaison officer of the PSP with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Currently designated as Deputy National Director of the Organic Personnel Division, Superintendent Ismael Jorge is the current Deputy Director of the Practical Police School after serving as Chief of Staff to the PSP National Director and Commander of the PSP Leiria District Command. .
Superintendent Fiães Fernandez, currently Commander of the PSP Metropolitan Command in Lisbon, has been selected as PSP National Inspector.
He previously served as Director of the Department of Information and Communication Systems and the Department of Weapons and Explosives of the PSP.
On May 6, the Minister of the Interior appointed Superintendent Luis Carrillo as the new national director of the Public Security Police, replacing Chief Superintendent José Barros Correia.
